Meet Fatmata Bintu Barrie
Volunteer“My name is Fatmata Bintu Barrie, a final year part one medical student at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Sierra Leone. With a passion for service and innovation, I have significantly impacted healthcare and humanitarian efforts in Sierra Leone and beyond. As a member of the Sierra Leone Medical Students Association (SLEMSA), I facilitated international collaboration and knowledge exchange. I also served as President of the Anti Violence Movement.
Globally, I was honored with the Humanitarian Goodwill Award and named one of the '50 Most Influential Women' in 2023. My innovative work earned me the title of Best Female Innovator at the UNDP Social Good Summit Innovation Competition in 2016.
Additionally, I am an Associate Member for Innovation and Creativity under the Policy, Advocacy, and Research Team at Strong Girls Evolution. I empower future leaders as an Ambassador & Mentor at First Global Robotics and as an Ambassador to the Sierra Leone American Society for Microbiology.”

Meet Haja Kepiatu Satia Conteh
VolunteerHaja Kepiatu Satia Conteh acquired her Diploma in Pharmacy at the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, University of Sierra Leone and then proceeded to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy at Nantong University in China. She has an extensive experience in pharmacy practice as she have served as a Pharmacy Practitioner in some of the most prestigious pharmacies in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Kepiatu possesses qualities of a brilliant and a steadfast person. She is spiritually minded, kind, humble, cheerful, a good listener and above all a go getter. Her perseverance is unmatched. Kepiatu is a Gender Equity and Medication Associate at Strong Girls Evolution. She definitely has wonderful things in mind for medications in Sierra Leone and beyond, and can’t wait for you all to be a part of this great future unfolding.

Meet Mastan Swaray
VolunteerMastan Swaray is a Journalist in Sierra Leone. She is a reporter at Radio Democracy 98.1 FM, a media institution that strives to raise public awareness about governance, democracy, human rights, the rule of law and issues happening in Sierra Leone.
Mastan has been making headway in the media space since she was in secondary school, including serving as the president of Freetown Secondary School for Girls’ News Journal in 2019. Under her leadership, the school’s first ever newsletter was published. Mastan Swaray is currently a Programs Associate at Strong Girls Evolution, where she raises awareness about gender equality and equity, leadership, career development, skills building and many other issues.
